Customer Support Engineer - India
VAST Data is looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key player in providing technical support to our customers. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure customer satisfaction and success.
About the Role
As a Customer Support Engineer, you will be recognized as a technical expert at VAST Data. You will handle daily technical operations and escalations, working with our "Flight Crew" to support customers after the sale.
What You'll Do
- Build trusted relationships with customers through technical expertise and a customer-first mindset.
- Respond quickly to technical support issues, using hands-on skills to resolve or escalate them.
- Manage daily technical operations to ensure issues are fully resolved.
- Perform field services for customers, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Submit and manage feature requests and bugs with product marketing and development teams.
- Advocate for your assigned accounts, tracking bugs, feature requests, and escalations.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance customer adoption of VAST products.
- Support VAST data account teams regarding technical status and activities.
- Balance workload to meet KPIs and SLAs while ensuring customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles with complex storage solutions.
- Ability to manage time and case load with changing priorities.
- Extensive knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, and storage.
- Experience with Linux system administration and network configurations.
- Proficiency in bash scripting and familiarity with other programming languages.
- Significant experience with file systems and scale-out NAS implementation.
- Knowledge of S3 and high-performance computing is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on lab and hardware management experience is a plus.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is an advantage.
- MS or B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Availability for a rotational weekend shift every 8-12 weeks and occasional holiday coverage.
