Senior Analyst - Fundraising Data & Analytics

The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Fundraising Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will help us make data-driven decisions to enhance our fundraising strategies. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to support our mission of sharing knowledge worldwide.

About the Role

This is a one-year contract position. We prefer candidates to be based between UTC−05:00 and UTC+00:00. You will be part of a small, collaborative analytics team, working closely with an analytics engineer and fellow analysts. You will support various fundraising efforts, from online campaigns to donor relations.

What You'll Do

• Provide insights and analysis on global fundraising campaigns and objectives.
• Develop and track key performance indicators across different fundraising channels.
• Collaborate with colleagues in fundraising and finance on multi-year revenue forecasting.
• Deliver reporting, statistical analysis, and guidance on our A/B testing program.
• Model data for reporting and analysis, cleaning and transforming it using dbt.
• Review teammates’ work to ensure data quality and interpretability.

Examples of your work may include:

• Building and maintaining a donor propensity model to boost revenue.
• Creating donor segments in an audience-building tool like Hightouch.
• Developing a model to personalize ask amounts for donors.

What We're Looking For

Subject Matter Expertise

• Experience in fundraising analytics, ideally in a large, international program.
• Experience analyzing digital marketing campaigns.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in SQL for data modeling and analysis.
• Skilled in creating clear data visualizations in a business intelligence platform.
• Practical statistical expertise for designing experiments and interpreting results.
• Comfortable using Python for advanced calculations or analysis.
• Experience with predictive modeling to address business questions.
• Able to troubleshoot SQL queries and pipelines efficiently.

Collaboration Skills

• Comfortable giving and receiving code reviews through git.
• Document your work clearly for teammates and stakeholders.
• Accurately estimate work and communicate obstacles promptly.
• Seek support when needed and maintain a growth mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in a remote work environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with open source technologies and communities.

What We Offer

The anticipated annual pay range for this position is US$106,227 to US$167,858, depending on your skills, experience, and location. For applicants outside of the US, the pay will be adjusted accordingly.
