At Deel, we are looking for an Automation Specialist to design, implement, and maintain automated systems and processes. You will play a key role in enhancing our operational efficiency and improving data accuracy through automation technologies.

About the Role

The Automation Specialist will focus on translating business problems into automation workflows. You will work with cutting-edge automation frameworks to streamline operations across various teams, including engineering and product.

What You'll Do

• Build and implement a scalable, reusable automation framework using tools like Jira/Service Desk, Zapier, Zendesk, and Looker.
• Develop and maintain integrations using APIs, JSON, SQL, and scripting languages such as Python.
• Optimize business and engineering processes through automation.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and design practical solutions.
• Translate operational and business requirements into technical specifications and workflows.
• Create internal automation tools and scripts to streamline processes.
• Collaborate with operations, product, and technical teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
• Document automation workflows and maintain clear operational documentation.
• Create and adjust Looker Dashboards.
• Manage large or multiple projects with changing priorities.

What We're Looking For

• Strong analytical skills with experience in designing and implementing automation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and scripting languages like Python.
• Experience working with APIs, integrations, and structured data formats such as JSON.
• Practical experience using modern automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n, Alteryx).
• Hands-on experience applying AI or LLM tools for automation solutions.
• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, or fast-paced technology environments is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement solutions independently.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Looker is preferred.
• Experience with spreadsheets and data analysis tools.
• Experience with ETL and data pipeline automation tools.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions or similar.

Nice to Have

Experience with data visualization tools and familiarity with CI/CD processes will be beneficial.
