About the Role

We are looking for a Customer Account Executive to join our growing Sales team. In this role, you will help expand and renew current customer accounts. You will find new use cases, educate clients on new features, and ensure that Tailscale is successfully adopted by your accounts. You will work closely with the Solutions Engineering team and collaborate with Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Product teams.

What You'll Do

  • Become an expert in how Tailscale benefits our customers.
  • Build a reliable pipeline each quarter by engaging clients on upsells and renewals.
  • Take ownership of upsell and renewal goals across your accounts.
  • Educate customers on the value of Tailscale during the evaluation and adoption phases.
  • Generate short-term results while maintaining annual pipeline coverage.
  • Provide accurate weekly forecasts and revenue updates.
  • Create mutual action and success plans with customers to help them evaluate and expand their use of Tailscale.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in a closing role as an Account Executive or Account Manager.
  • A strong desire to join a high-growth software startup.
  • Experience selling developer or technical products, especially in a product-led growth environment.
  • Comfort presenting to senior managers and executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities at various stages while meeting and exceeding quotas.
  • Experience using Gong or similar tools to manage pipeline and collaborate internally.
  • Experience working with Sales Engineering, Support, and Customer Success teams to achieve positive outcomes for clients.

At Tailscale, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation. Our compensation package includes a base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The salary range for this position is:

CAN Pay Range (OTE): $201,000—$201,000 CAD

This reflects target on-target earnings, including base salary and variable compensation tied to quarterly sales targets.
