Join Netflix as a Data Engineer and take ownership of our data systems. You will help build and scale data pipelines that support our flagship product, the Netflix Knowledge Graph, and collaborate with a talented team to drive impactful outcomes.
About the Role
At Netflix, we aim to entertain the world. Our Entertainment Industry Data Products team within Data Science & Engineering provides insights that empower our scientists, engineers, and business executives. As a Data Engineer, you will work on diverse technologies to create robust data systems that analyze interactions and usage patterns across the Netflix Knowledge Graph.
What You'll Do
- Engineer efficient, adaptable, and scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build robust data quality systems using advanced data and machine learning techniques.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Netflix Data Science & Engineering ecosystem.
- Understand business requirements and provide data that helps teams innovate.
- Collaborate with data science, analytics, and business counterparts.
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in distributed data processing with a focus on building reliable data products.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala) with a minimum of 4 years of software/data engineering experience.
- Comfort with SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Trino, Iceberg) on large-scale data.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Advocate for data quality with a strong opinion on data audits, unit tests, and documentation.
- Interest in learning new business domains and growing your career.
- Familiarity or interest in graph technologies (e.g., databases, data models, query languages) is a plus.
What We Offer
Location: Los Angeles (preferred), Los Gatos, or Remote.
Salary: The compensation range for this role is $380,000.00 - $610,000.00, based on location and individual qualifications. You can choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
