Meta is looking for a Design Project Lead and Architect who has experience in designing and constructing critical facilities. In this role, you will be an essential part of our Data Center Design Engineering team, overseeing the design and construction of our data centers, which are vital to our operations.

About the Role

As the Design Project Lead and Architect, you will manage projects from start to finish. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure our data centers are designed and built efficiently and reliably. Your leadership will help guide the Civil, Structural, Landscape, and Architecture (CSLA) disciplines throughout the process.

What You'll Do

Lead multiple projects through all phases, including schematic design, construction documents, and administration.
Plan projects by gathering requirements, defining scope, and identifying milestones.
Serve as the main technical contact between business stakeholders and design engineering teams.
Set clear goals and track progress, keeping stakeholders informed.
Facilitate regular project meetings to promote transparency and improvement.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and manage project contracts.
Hold engineering teams accountable for deliverables and performance.
Participate in quality checks and testing throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Offer technical expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Support onboarding of new team members and foster cross-discipline knowledge.
Lead meetings to resolve critical design issues and innovate design-construction processes.
Collaborate with the Quality Team on systems integration and commissioning.

What We're Looking For

8+ years of experience in mission-critical building design, construction, or operations.
Registered Architect or equivalent licensure in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience with large-scale design and construction projects.
Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety standards.
Proficiency in design software like Google Suite, Revit/BIM, and Bluebeam.
Project Management experience and knowledge of building systems design.
Understanding of geotechnical design, structural design, and sustainable design.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and fire protection systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills in English.
Owner’s representative experience or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
