Join Our Team as an Expert Graphics Engineer
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an Expert Graphics Engineer to join our Boston office. You'll play a key role in developing and optimizing high-performance graphics systems for Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set in the Witcher universe. Your work will help create stunning visuals and enhance the gaming experience.
About the Role
In this role, you will collaborate with artists and engineers to deliver impressive graphics through advanced rendering techniques. You will also partner with the Lead Graphics Engineer to shape both short- and long-term technical roadmaps.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize rendering systems for high visual fidelity.
- Build and maintain custom rendering technology within a third-party engine.
- Work with art and tech art teams to create efficient tools and workflows.
- Develop innovative rendering approaches for large-scale, open-world environments.
- Maintain, debug, and enhance existing graphics systems for better performance.
- Support the growth of less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Promote high code quality and adherence to engineering standards.
- Seek and incorporate feedback to improve system design and performance.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in game development, with at least 5 years in graphics programming.
- Experience with AAA console titles, especially using Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency in C++ and a strong understanding of graphics programming.
- Knowledge of rendering techniques, shaders, ray tracing, and GPU/CPU architecture.
- Ability to troubleshoot GPU-related crashes and performance issues.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, ideally with a shipped title.
- Familiarity with low-level graphics APIs (DirectX12, Vulkan) and tools like RenderDoc or Pix.
- Strong interest in visual innovation and quality in games.
- Solid multithreaded programming skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with virtual geometry and global illumination techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hardware ray tracing.
- Familiarity with platform-specific memory management and optimizations.

- Estimated salary range: $168,200 - $257,000 USD annually.
- This role may be eligible for a long-term incentive program (option to purchase CDPR stock after the vesting period).
