Founding Engineer/Architect (Stealth Healthcare Startup)
Join us as a Founding Engineer at Red Cell Partners. In this role, you'll work closely with our founder to build a women's health intelligence platform from the ground up. You'll have the opportunity to shape the product and make a real difference in women's health.
About the Role
We are launching a platform that delivers personalized care for women's health across all life stages. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive view of women's health by connecting symptoms, lab results, lifestyle factors, and hormonal changes.
As a Founding Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical vision and execution of our core platform. This includes developing our AI-powered health intelligence engine and integrating various data sources to create a unified health picture for our users. Expect to take on multiple roles, work quickly, and significantly influence our product and team as we grow.
What You'll Do
- Build the Platform From Scratch: Collaborate with our founder to design and create Version 1 of the health intelligence platform, making key technical decisions that will shape the product.
- Architect the Health Intelligence Engine: Develop the backend infrastructure, APIs, and data models that provide personalized health insights by synthesizing lab results, wearable data, symptoms, and medical history.
- Develop Data Integration Pipelines: Create ETL pipelines to gather data from various sources, including lab providers and wearables, while ensuring data integrity, security, and HIPAA compliance.
- Build AI-Powered Features: Implement features like conversational AI health check-ins and treatment recommendations, using tools like Claude to speed up development.
- Own Security and Compliance: Ensure HIPAA compliance from day one by implementing security measures for handling sensitive health data.
- Leverage AI-Native Development Tools: Use tools like Claude, Claude Code, and Cursor to enhance development speed and efficiency.
- Grow Into Leadership: As the team expands, mentor other engineers and help establish our engineering culture and practices.

- Strong backend and infrastructure expertise, with experience in system architecture, APIs, databases, and scalable systems. Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or similar.
- Experience with health data and integrations, including lab data, EHR systems, and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Data pipeline and ETL experience, particularly in building pipelines that handle healthcare data.
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience in AI/ML implementation, including recommendation systems and predictive models.
- A security and compliance mindset, with an understanding of HIPAA requirements.
