Join Our Team as an IT Automation and Integration Engineer

About the Role
In this role, you will be part of the IT Systems & Services (ITSS) team. Your focus will be on building scalable and secure automation solutions. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to translate business needs into efficient system integrations. This position involves hands-on engineering work, including scripting, cloud orchestration, and API integrations.
What You'll Do
- Design & Implement Automation Workflows: Develop and maintain automations across platforms like Okta, Jamf, Jira, Slack, HiBob, HubSpot, and Google Workspace.
- Build and Manage System Integrations: Architect and deploy system integrations using REST APIs, Webhooks, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Automation Scripting: Write scripts in Python and Node.js for complex automation logic. Use N8N for integration delivery and event-driven workflows.
- Develop Slack Bots: Create scalable Slack bots that connect to internal tools for automated actions and notifications.
- Use GCP for Backend Logic: Implement cloud-based automation using Google Cloud Platform services.
- Infuse AI & LLM Capabilities: Incorporate AI-driven logic to enhance workflows and support natural language processing.
- Collaborate & Document: Translate business needs into technical requirements and maintain clear documentation.
- Monitor, Optimise & Secure: Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with privacy and InfoSec standards.
What We're Looking For
- Experience & Background:
- 5+ years in IT automation, system integration, or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience with iPaaS platforms like Okta Workflow, N8N, Workato, or similar.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Python and Node.js for automation.
- Experience with iPaaS tools for automations.
- Understanding of REST APIs, SOAP, Webhooks, OAuth2, JSON/XML.
- Familiarity with tools like HiBob, Workday, Okta, Jamf, Google Workspace, Jira, and HubSpot.
- Cloud & Platform Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Slack APIs.
- AI Integration Awareness:
- Experience with integrating AI services, including OpenAI, into automation pipelines.
- Operational & Interpersonal Strengths:
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Ability to design secure and scalable integrations.
- Comfortable working with both technical and business teams.
Where You'll Be
This is a Hybrid role based in Lisbon, Portugal. You will work from our Lisbon Office at least 2 days per week.

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our offices in Amsterdam, Paris, and Lisbon are designed for collaboration. Most Catawikians work in a hybrid setup, with at least two days per week in the office.
