Physical Therapy Case Manager

About the Role
As a Physical Therapy Case Manager, you will counsel providers on the appropriate use of physical therapy services. You will monitor the impact of these services and conduct medical necessity reviews to meet client health needs.
What You'll Do
- Review medical records and physical therapy treatment plans to ensure compliance with guidelines and support recovery.
- Determine the medical necessity of physical therapy services and develop action plans for providers.
- Provide clinical opinions on therapy needs and communicate protocols with providers.
- Negotiate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians to optimize patient care.
- Consult with the Sedgwick clinical team on complex claims and provide recommendations for improved care.
- Support clinical product innovation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Document all communications and decisions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in client meetings to explain program results.
- Engage in quality assurance activities to ensure adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and maintain compliance with applicable laws.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate preferred.
- Completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and current license to practice as a Physical Therapist required.
- Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with current trends in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Chiropractic Care.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and meet performance competencies.
Nice to Have
- Experience in negotiating and creating comprehensive reports.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $88,000 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
