Public Policy Manager at Meta

Meta is looking for an experienced Public Policy Manager to enhance our state public policy and government relations efforts. In this role, you will engage with political stakeholders and advocate for issues that matter to us, with a focus on technology policy. You will report to the Public Policy Director for the South/Southeast United States and can work from DC, Austin, Texas, or remotely in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area, with travel required.

About the Role

As a Public Policy Manager, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing state legislative proposals that impact Meta. You will represent our policy positions to state legislators and manage relationships with key policymakers.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze state legislative proposals that impact Meta.
  • Communicate our policy positions to members of state legislatures and administrations.
  • Monitor the political environment and find opportunities to advance beneficial policies.
  • Manage relationships with state policymakers.
  • Support the Director of Public Policy with policy work and operational needs in the region.
  • Develop strategies for engagement with chambers of commerce, industry associations, non-profits, and civil society groups.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within the region.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairs.
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business/strategy, economics, legal, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the state political process and key stakeholders in the region.
  • Experience creating and implementing advocacy campaigns relevant to state government.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and multi-tasking skills in time-sensitive settings.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience managing contract lobbyists and trade associations.
  • Understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience navigating complex organizational structures and building coalitions.
  • Familiarity with complex policy issues, such as technology, privacy, and economic development.
  • Knowledge of Meta's products, services, and policy priorities.
