Senior Analyst, Fundraising Data & Analytics (Contract)

Join the Wikimedia Foundation as a Senior Analyst in our Fundraising Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will help drive data-informed decisions that enhance our fundraising strategies. You will work collaboratively with a small team to support our mission of sharing knowledge freely across the globe.

About the Role

This is a one-year contract position that is fully remote. We prefer candidates to be based between UTC−05:00 and UTC+00:00. As part of the fundraising operations team, you will focus on improving the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts while respecting user privacy and transparency.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver insights and analysis on global fundraising campaigns and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators across various fundraising channels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in fundraising and finance on multi-year revenue forecasting.
  • Provide reporting, statistical analysis, and guidance on A/B testing initiatives.
  • Model data upstream of your reporting and analysis, cleaning and transforming it using dbt.
  • Peer review teammates’ work to ensure data quality and interpretability.
  • Examples of your work may include building donor propensity models and personalizing ask amounts for donors.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Strong background in fundraising analytics, ideally in large, international programs. Experience analyzing digital marketing campaigns is also important.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data modeling and analytical queries. Ability to create clear data visualizations in a business intelligence platform. Practical statistical expertise for designing experiments.
  • Collaboration: Comfort with code reviews and clear documentation of work. Ability to estimate work accurately and communicate obstacles effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Remote Work: Experience working in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with open source technologies and communities.

What We Offer

The Wikimedia Foundation is committed to providing a competitive and equitable salary. The anticipated annual pay range for this position for applicants based in the United States is US$ 106,227 to US$ 167,858. The offered pay will depend on various factors, including location and experience. For applicants located outside of the US, the pay range will be adjusted accordingly.
