At Jimdo, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us enhance our backend systems. You will play a key role in designing and optimizing our API services, ensuring they are reliable and efficient.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will contribute to our mission of empowering solopreneurs and small businesses. Your work will directly impact the performance and scalability of our backend systems.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize API services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of backend solutions.
• Maintain high standards of code quality through reviews, testing, and best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve backend issues to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in backend development.
• Provide insights and feedback to the Tech Lead and other stakeholders regarding the technical feasibility of backend solutions.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Kotlin; experience with Java is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and backend development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Experience with Agentic Coding best practices, including using AI agents to deliver features.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, or React is a plus.
• Background in building IAM solutions is a plus.
