At Rain Technologies, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team in EMEA. In this role, you will manage various areas of our backend platform, focusing on API integrations and building products that support our users' financial well-being.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work with our international product and engineering teams to tackle technical challenges and contribute to our strategic goals.

What You'll Do

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
• Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed micro-services architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries for scalability.
• Enforce observability best practices using logging and metrics.
• Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture designs, APIs, workflows).
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong ownership of projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with complex large-scale distributed systems.

Required Technical Qualifications

• Proficient in backend languages: Go/Golang, Python.
• Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Proven experience building reliable and scalable user-facing applications.
• Proficiency in message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies: AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Effective release management experience and familiarity with CI/CD frameworks.
