Join Qualia as a Senior Compliance & Payment Operations Analyst. In this role, you'll help shape our payment solutions and ensure smooth, compliant operations as we grow. You'll work closely with various teams to support our compliance and payment processes.

About the Role

Qualia is focused on simplifying how money moves in real estate closings. You will support our Compliance and Payment Operations team by managing daily payment execution, monitoring transactions, and resolving issues. Your contributions will help us build a strong Compliance and Payment Operations function in collaboration with our Director of Compliance.

What You'll Do

• Compliance & Risk Management
  • Support our Compliance Management System (CMS) for embedded payments.
  • Help build and manage a future team of Payment Operations Analysts.
  • Monitor payment activity for ACH returns, transaction anomalies, and potential fraud.
  • Handle escalations related to customer onboarding and liaise with the sponsor bank.
  • Own daily payment operations workflows, including exception handling and issue tracking.
  • Assist with audits by gathering evidence and validating controls.
  • Ensure compliance with NACHA Operating Rules, Reg E, BSA/AML requirements, and consumer protection obligations.
  • Resolve L2/L3 complaints in coordination with Customer Support.
  • Oversee onboarding workflows and resolve escalations.
• Process Improvement & Growth
  • Track and report on key operational and risk metrics.
  • Analyze operational data to identify failure points and partner with teams to improve workflows.
  • Help draft and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Document edge cases and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
  • Provide input for new payment features and product launches.

What We're Looking For

• Must-Haves
  • 4–6 years in payment, compliance, or risk operations (fintech or banking preferred).
  • Direct experience with sponsor bank programs or embedded payments.
  • Familiarity with major payment rails (ACH, wire, instant payments).
  • Working knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules and ACH return processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibilities in Payments Operations/Compliance.
• Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in real estate, proptech, or vertical SaaS.
  • Exposure to audits or sponsor-bank oversight processes.
  • Experience in managing a team.

What We Offer

This role has a base annual salary of $120,000-$130,000 plus a competitive equity and benefits package. Salary will be determined by relevant experience, location, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market data.
