You will work in a dynamic environment, taking ownership of your projects while being supported by Twilio’s resources.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on creating Stytch’s fraud detection and prevention products. What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain fraud detection capabilities for Stytch on Twilio, focusing on browser and device internals to improve identification of bad actors.
  • Work with Product and Engineering leadership to align on direction, translate customer needs into technical plans, and deliver impactful features.
  • Collaborate with teams across Twilio and Stytch to ensure architectural alignment and unblock initiatives.
  • Take technical ownership: write design documents, make key technical decisions, review code, and stay engaged with the systems you develop.
  • Navigate ambiguity by breaking down complex problems and making practical trade-offs.
  • Enhance production quality and resilience through effective observability and incident response.
  • Mentor fellow engineers through collaboration, feedback, and knowledge-sharing to elevate the team's skills and culture.

What We're Looking For

We value diverse experiences and encourage everyone who meets the qualifications to apply. If your career path has been non-traditional, we still want to hear from you!

Required:

  • 6+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating production systems.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ (production experience not required).
  • Experience with a production-grade codebase in a modern programming language, adhering to best practices and writing high-quality code.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including on-call rotation during weekends and holidays.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Javascript, Go, or WebAssembly.
  • Experience with reverse engineering and detection/prevention techniques related to bots and fraud.
  • Background in offensive or defensive security software engineering.
  • A hands-on builder, whether through hobbies or professional projects.
