About the Role
As a Senior Specialist in Employee Relations, you will play a key role in managing employee exits for Remote's external employees. Your focus will be on ensuring legal compliance, maintaining high-quality standards, and providing excellent customer service. You will also offer first-level Employee Relations support, helping clients navigate workplace concerns.
What You'll Do
- Manage complex employee exits across different jurisdictions, ensuring a smooth offboarding experience.
- Provide expert guidance on HR matters, including terminations, resignations, and employment contracts, while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Lead meetings with clients and external employees regarding terminations and separations.
- Negotiate positive outcomes in complex termination situations, working with various stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance in offboarding processes.
- Draft and manage termination documents, maintaining strict confidentiality and accuracy.
- Process offboarding in Remote's HRIS platform, collaborating with various teams to ensure timely administration.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on employee relations matters.
- Conduct assessments of workplace concerns and provide comprehensive guidance to clients.
- Track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and advocate for best practices in offboarding and employee relations.
- Determine methods and standards for new assignments while considering the broader needs of the team.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with a solid understanding of the employee lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, labor relations, or paralegal studies are a plus.
- Experience managing employee exits with care and legal compliance across EMEA, APAC, and AMER regions.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations principles and workplace investigation fundamentals.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including Legal and Payroll teams.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex HR issues and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
- Desire to innovate and improve processes while ensuring data integrity.
- Tech-savvy, with experience in Notion, Slack, GSuite, and Zendesk.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
