Join our team at Pismo, a Visa company, as a Software Engineer specializing in Financial Accounting. In this role, you will design and maintain backend services that support financial processes. You will collaborate with various teams to create reliable technical solutions.

About the Role

This is a remote position. You will work with a diverse team to build a comprehensive processing platform for banking and payment solutions. Your work will help clients transition from outdated systems to advanced technology.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Golang or Java.
• Build and evolve event-driven and microservices-based architectures.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, accounting, and engineering teams.
• Work with AWS services like SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge.
• Use Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Monitor system health and financial flows.
• Participate in code reviews to improve code quality.
• Contribute to architectural discussions for better scalability and resilience.
• Support incident analysis and investigations related to financial discrepancies.

What We're Looking For

• Based in Brazil.
• Proficiency in English at B1 level or above (Intermediate).
• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proficiency in Java / Groovy or JVM-based languages; ability to learn Golang.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Knowledge of debugging in distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD tools like Argo, Jenkins, and Codefresh.
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud services.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Financial Systems, especially Accounting or Ledger-based platforms.
• Strong understanding of financial data modeling.
• Experience with high-quality code reviews.
• Ability to document APIs and flows effectively.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Skills in identifying and resolving issues in distributed systems.
