This backend microservice is essential for our business operations. You'll help drive technical excellence in our order processing systems and mentor other engineers. About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in Commercial Services, you will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and promote best practices in developing and maintaining microservices for sales order processing and management. You should have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, along with experience working with GraphQL APIs and event-driven architectures.
What You'll Do
- Lead design and technical implementation decisions, guiding stakeholders to ensure high standards in order processing capabilities.
- Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices, including AI tooling.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to gather requirements and support software from ideation to release, operation, and maintenance.
- Design, build, and maintain highly available backend systems for business applications and order processing.
- Drive quality initiatives and support QA activities with our QA engineering teams.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of software development experience, focusing on secure, scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with event-driven architecture and message processing using Apache Kafka.
- Experience working with remote and hybrid teams, including overseas contractors.
- Experience mentoring engineers and promoting technical best practices.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes, including building, configuration, releases, and deployment.
- Extensive knowledge of Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven Development.
- Knowledge of AI processes related to the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with service-oriented and microservice architecture.
- Experience with AWS ecosystem: EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3, etc.
- Experience with GraphQL API design and implementation in Java.
- Strong relational database skills, including design and optimization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a solid analytical background.
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Nice to Have
- Advanced Java Programming with Spring Boot expertise.
- SQL and NoSQL database experience, including MySQL, ElasticSearch, and DynamoDB.
- AWS Services knowledge, such as EC2, Lambdas, Step Functions, SQS, S3, and SNS.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and Cloud Formation.
- Familiarity with Docker or container-oriented technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD processes (Gitlab).
- Knowledge of distributed systems monitoring and troubleshooting.
What We Offer
The pay range for this position is $125,000—$156,300 USD, based on various factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and location.
