Join Abbott as a Staff Software Engineer focusing on mobile applications. About the Role
This position is remote within the U.S. You will work with a team using React Native and Golang to enhance a mobile platform that supports health monitoring for users in over 50 countries. Your leadership and technical skills will guide the team in building scalable and secure software solutions for medical devices.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and delivery of complex mobile applications using React Native and embedded Go modules.
- Define and promote mobile engineering best practices for both JavaScript and Go layers.
- Mentor and coach engineers to foster their growth and promote a culture of excellence.
- Collaborate with product, design, and architecture teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure code quality, security, and adherence to architectural standards.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges, focusing on performance and scalability in both React Native and Go code.
- Contribute to the organization’s technical roadmap, influencing long-term technology choices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years building and shipping complex mobile applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, API design, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Swift, Kotlin, or C++.
- Ability to learn and apply new programming languages and frameworks quickly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Golang or a strong desire to learn it.
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices and secure coding standards.
- Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies.
- Prior experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.

- The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. Pay may vary based on location.
