AWS DevOps Engineer

Nuwave Communications, Inc. is looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our global infrastructure team. This remote role is open to candidates based in Australia. You will manage AWS networking environments and support our Sales and Product teams with pre-sales and quoting responsibilities.

About the Role

As an AWS DevOps Engineer, you will combine your technical expertise in AWS networking with your ability to collaborate with sales teams. Your work will ensure our cloud environments are secure and scalable while helping to design customer connectivity solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain AWS cloud networking architectures, including VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, and BGP routing.
• Manage hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS and on-premises data centers.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network and cloud performance and security.
• Collaborate with Sales to design customer connectivity solutions involving physical NNIs/Direct Connect circuits and AWS Direct Connect.
• Assist in quoting and solution design, including bandwidth planning and high-availability scenarios.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for pre-sales customer calls related to cloud connectivity.
• Translate technical cloud networking requirements into business-aligned deliverables.
• Some on-call work (weekends/holidays) may be required.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years in a DevOps, Cloud Networking, or Sales Engineering role with strong AWS experience.
• Deep understanding of AWS networking services, including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP, and VPN.
• Experience supporting or working alongside Sales or Product teams on quoting or solution design.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure provisioning.
• Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Based in Australia and able to work independently in a remote-first environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strategically focused.
• Experience with handling and maintaining highly confidential information.
• Ability to work from home with little supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office, Internet, email, and collaboration tools.
• A fast learner with a proactive attitude.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.
• Familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 interconnects, colocation ecosystems, and physical cross-connect processes.
• Experience with hybrid DNS, security groups, routing policies, and multi-region cloud design.
• Prior experience with quoting systems or product management tools is a plus.
