We are looking for a Commercial & Scientific Analyst to help us in our mission to revolutionize mineral exploration. In this role, you will work closely with a remote team to tackle complex problems, create financial models, and provide insights to our leadership team.

About the Role

You will report to a Lead or Manager in the Commercial Analytics team. Your work will involve a mix of traditional market analysis and innovative research to support KoBold’s exploration programs. This position is perfect for a recent graduate eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Aggregate existing research and conduct original research to build forecasts and models related to commodity markets and KoBold operations.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Analytics and Financial Planning & Analysis team to address strategic questions from leadership.
• Prepare materials for the Board of Directors and investors or partners.
• Use a first-principles approach to improve decision-making and operational efficiency across various functions.
• Conduct analytics for key workstreams in mine development and exploration.
• Build and maintain financial models to assess project economics.
• Support team members on various analytical assignments.

What We're Looking For

A great candidate will have:

• A degree in a STEM discipline or economics (preferred fields include physics, chemistry, astronomy/astrophysics, or mathematics).
• At least 1 year of experience in technology, natural resources, finance, or professional services.
• Experience with Python or another scientific computing language and/or financial modeling.
• A strong interest in solving a variety of problems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A mindset focused on first principles in science, technology, economics, and business.

What We Offer

This is a full-time, exempt position with a US base salary range of $105,000 - $125,000. KoBold Metals is a remote-first workplace, welcoming candidates from the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom. All candidates must be authorized to work legally in one of these locations.
