Join GitLab as a Data Analyst on our Product Data Insights team. In this remote role, you'll help product teams make informed decisions by providing clear analysis and trusted data. You'll work closely with various teams to improve customer experiences and business outcomes.

About the Role

As a Product Data Analyst, you'll analyze customer behavior and product usage. Your insights will support strategic decisions and enhance GitLab's Platforms sections and Dedicated offerings. You'll contribute to a transparent, values-driven culture that values data storytelling.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product Managers and leadership, to define analytical approaches for business questions.
• Gather and connect data from multiple sources to create a clear narrative about product usage and customer behavior.
• Establish reporting for new products and features, defining metrics and building repeatable analyses for tracking adoption and performance.
• Analyze usage patterns within GitLab's Platforms sections to identify performance and improvement areas.
• Explore behavioral trends for the Dedicated offering to provide insights that inform product decisions.
• Partner with UX to understand user behavior and support research with quantitative analysis.
• Work with Engineering teams on data collection and measurement strategies for accurate product usage tracking.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers on data modeling needs to ensure reliable decision-making.

What We're Looking For

• Advanced SQL skills and the ability to use data to answer complex product questions clearly and accurately.
• Experience building business intelligence visualizations and dashboards, ideally in Tableau or similar tools.
• Experience working with Product and Engineering teams on data creation and measurement strategies.
• Experience partnering with Data and Analytics Engineering teams to shape data models for reporting.
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to turn product usage data into practical recommendations.
• Experience conducting and interpreting A/B tests to evaluate product changes.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain complex findings simply.
• Comfort working in a remote, asynchronous environment while collaborating across functions.

Nice to Have

Experience in a similar role or industry is a plus, but not required.

What We Offer

The base salary range for this role is $78,400 - $168,000 USD, depending on location and experience. This range reflects the base salary rate for residents of the United States.
