Join Kraken as a Senior Product Manager for our Algorithmic Trading team. In this role, you will lead the development of our Algorithmic Execution & Strategy Engine, shaping the future of crypto trading.

About the Role

At Kraken, we are building the infrastructure for the next generation of professional and institutional crypto trading. This position is crucial as you will own the platform for complex order types and smart execution algorithms. Your expertise in electronic trading will help us bridge traditional finance practices with the crypto world.

What You'll Do

• Drive the roadmap for Kraken’s Algorithmic Execution & Strategy Engine, aligning it with our institutional and pro-trading growth strategy.
• Design and deliver new execution algorithms, such as TWAP, VWAP, and Implementation Shortfall, based on best practices from traditional finance.
• Build a strategy construction interface that allows professional traders to create and deploy execution strategies without coding.
• Manage the API and FIX protocol specifications for programmatic access to the algo engine, ensuring reliable access for institutional clients.
• Define transaction cost analysis (TCA) and execution quality frameworks, working with data science to improve execution performance.
• Establish an integration framework for AI trading agents to interact with Kraken’s execution infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Quant Research and Engineering to integrate machine learning enhancements into the execution stack.
• Engage with institutional clients and professional traders to identify their execution needs and translate them into product requirements.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in electronic or algorithmic trading environments.
• Deep knowledge of execution algorithms such as TWAP, VWAP, and smart order routing.
• Strong understanding of market microstructure and order book dynamics.
• Quantitative skills, including familiarity with TCA methodology and execution quality benchmarking.
• Proven experience in delivering high-quality trading infrastructure products.
• Experience working with institutional traders and the ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.
• Strong grasp of regulatory requirements for electronic trading.
• Exceptional communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience in crypto trading and familiarity with crypto market microstructure.
• Experience with AI/ML-driven execution systems or adaptive algorithms.
• Knowledge of DeFi execution mechanics, such as DEX aggregators and on-chain order flow.
• Experience with no-code or low-code strategy builders for quantitative trading.
