Manager, Treasury Operations, EMEA
Join Kraken as a Manager of Treasury Operations and play a key role in managing our liquidity and cash management. You will lead a dedicated team to ensure our treasury operations run smoothly and efficiently.
About the Role
As the Treasury Manager, you will work closely with various teams across the finance organization, global settlements, product, and business development. Your leadership will help facilitate the firm’s treasury needs and improve our processes.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team of 3-5 Treasury Analysts to achieve results for the Treasury Organization and wider Kraken stakeholders.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and interpretation of cash flows, loans, interest earnings, and treasury forecasting.
- Utilize TMS, internal payment gateways, and banking partners for high-value payments and treasury rebalancing.
- Collaborate with treasury and OTC trading analysts for executing crypto trades and fiat foreign exchange transactions.
- Manage treasury operations tools with multiple global banking partners, including cash pooling and payment portals.
- Work with Kraken’s global OTC trading team to ensure reliable 24/7 settlement services and an excellent client experience.
- Continuously improve processes while ensuring data verification, quality, and accuracy.
- Conduct detailed analysis and use liquidity management tools to optimize internal ledger and bank account balances.
- Be prepared for weekend work 1-3 times per month.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics. MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting, Financial Services, and Treasury roles.
- Knowledge and interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrency with a focus on security.
- Experience with crypto operations, settlements, custody systems, and chain rebalancing.
- Proven experience in executing and settling spot FX in fiat and/or crypto markets.
- At least 2 years of team management or supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to build financial models and work with various data types.
- Understanding of balance sheets and transaction impacts on assets and liabilities.
- Familiarity with global and local payment networks such as SWIFT and SEPA.
- Technical skills in managing data using Excel and SQL are preferred.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with audit controls is a plus.
Nice to Have
Experience in overseeing audit controls would be beneficial.
