Principal Product Manager
At Oportun, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead our product innovation efforts. You will play a key role in shaping our product strategy and enhancing the financial lives of our customers through innovative solutions.
About the Role
This position is open to candidates anywhere in the US. As a Principal Product Manager, you will drive our multi-year journey to utilize Gen AI and other technologies to foster business growth and improve customer experience. You will define product strategy and oversee the development and launch of new products and features.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to create a long-term product strategy.
- Scope and lead the development of new product features aimed at improving the financial health of our users.
- Analyze data and conduct user research to understand customer needs and behaviors.
- Manage a high-performing product team that includes engineering, design, data, marketing, legal, and customer support.
- Drive effective communication and alignment across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 7-10+ years in product management, preferably in high-growth environments and the financial services industry.
- Customer Focus: A commitment to improving the financial health of Oportun’s members.
- Analytical Skills: Experience in solving complex problems and making data-informed decisions.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to ship impactful products through teamwork and consensus-building.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication skills with excellent documentation abilities.
- Execution: A proactive, solution-oriented approach to overcoming obstacles and delivering value.
Nice to Have
Experience in FinTech or challenger banks is highly preferred.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $143,800 - $230,100. Salary is determined by role, level, location, and individual factors such as skills and experience. Your recruiter will provide specific salary details during the hiring process.
