Senior Analyst - Security Compliance

Join Kraken as a Senior Analyst in Security Compliance. In this role, you will help build and operate a robust IT controls program. You will work closely with various teams to ensure compliance and enhance our security framework.

About the Role

Kraken’s Security Team is growing. We are looking for a senior professional with a strong background in IT controls and external audit. This role is fully remote and offers the chance to collaborate with experienced leaders across our IT program and security organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage SOC 1 and SOC 2 examinations under AICPA standards.
  • Support SOX planning and execution, including IT system scoping and audit readiness.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to various teams, translating SOX and audit requirements into practical controls.
  • Lead security and IT control gap assessments and drive remediation efforts.
  • Facilitate the maturation of IT general controls (ITGCs) and IT application controls (ITACs).
  • Oversee the quality and execution of audit initiatives.
  • Perform impact assessments for SOX control deficiencies and design remediation plans.
  • Implement and enhance controls monitoring across key IT risk areas.
  • Develop and maintain clear, auditor-ready documentation.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient audits.
  • Support audit evidence collection and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in external IT audit and/or technology risk assurance.
  • Strong experience with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and SOX 404 frameworks.
  • Prior experience at a Big 4 or large public accounting firm.
  • Proven ability to lead compliance and audit initiatives from planning to audit close.
  • Experience auditing hybrid and cloud-based environments.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to fintech, payments, crypto, or digital asset business models.
  • Familiarity with risk and control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
  • Professional security management certification (e.g., CPA, CISA, CRISC) is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Opportunity to work in a cutting-edge, modern infrastructure environment.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams and world-class professionals.
  • Influence how controls are designed and scaled in a regulated technology business.
  • Gain meaningful ownership and visibility in a dynamic, evolving industry.

Unless a specific application deadline is stated, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you have knowledge or interest in crypto.
