Join n8n as our first UX Researcher. In this role, you will build our research practice and guide product decisions through user insights. You will have the opportunity to shape how we understand and meet the needs of our users.

About the Role

As a Senior/Staff UX Researcher, you will be a strategic partner across the company. Your main goal is to establish n8n's research function and lead impactful work. You will turn user understanding into a key driver of decisions throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

• Research Operations & Infrastructure: Build the infrastructure for our research practice, including automated recruitment systems and a centralized insights repository. Consolidate user data into a single source of truth while ensuring GDPR compliance.
• Strategic Research: Define and own the research roadmap in collaboration with product and design leads. Conduct foundational and generative research, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Research Mentorship and Evangelization: Shape our research approach by creating templates and methodologies. Mentor teams to run their own studies and promote the importance of user insights across the company.
• AI & Automation: Use AI and n8n tools to enhance research impact while maintaining ethical practices. Develop a deep understanding of our technical users through curiosity about workflow automation.

What We're Looking For

• Must-haves:
  • n8n Power User: Confident in using n8n as a core tool in your daily workflow.
  • Research Expertise: 5-7 years in UX research with strong mixed-methods skills, ideally in B2B or technical environments.
  • ResearchOps Builder: Experience building research infrastructure, including recruitment and participant databases.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to connect research to business outcomes and experience with OKRs.
  • Mentor & Coach: Experience mentoring teams and elevating others' research capabilities.
  • Communication & Influence: Skilled at translating findings into narratives that resonate with teams and leadership.
  • AI-savvy Researcher: Hands-on experience with AI in research, with a strong ethical perspective.
  • Privacy & Compliance: Understanding of GDPR and research ethics with practical compliance experience.

Nice to Have

• PLG Experience: Background in product-led growth environments.
• Remote Research Expertise: Experience running research across distributed teams and global user bases.
