Manager, Solutions Architects - West

Join GitLab as the Manager of Solutions Architects for our Enterprise team in North America. In this role, you will lead a talented group of Solutions Architects who support enterprise customers in the West sales territory. You will guide your team to help customers successfully adopt the GitLab platform throughout their software development lifecycle.

About the Role

As the Manager, Solutions Architects, you will oversee a distributed team of intermediate and senior Solutions Architects. Your focus will be on acting as trusted advisors to our customers, ensuring they find the right technical and business solutions with GitLab's Enterprise Edition. You will also be responsible for hiring, coaching, and retaining a high-performing team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a distributed team of Solutions Architects supporting Enterprise customers in the West territory.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback and skills development.
  • Grow and retain a high-performing team by hiring thoughtfully and fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Engage in key customer opportunities as a Solutions Architect, from discovery to successful adoption of GitLab.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in technical evaluations, demos, and proofs of concept.
  • Collaborate with regional sales managers on strategy, account planning, and forecast support.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to share insights and improve messaging.
  • Define and track key performance indicators for team execution and communicate progress clearly.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience mentoring and developing technical team members.
  • Experience managing or leading technical pre-sales or IT professionals in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to execute sales strategies.
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills for engaging both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle and modern development practices.
  • Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and common customer adoption patterns.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for business and openness to learning GitLab tools.

Nice to Have

Experience in adjacent domains that can bring transferable skills to the role would be beneficial.

What We Offer

The base salary range for this role is $115,500 - $247,500 USD. This range reflects the base salary rate across the United States and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
